Methi Chappathi

Methi Chappathi made with fenugreek leaves or methi leaves.Any fussy eater will eat it.I rarely use ghee,i use gingelly oil ,it is also good too.It is very tasty and yummy.Methi chappati makes a quite an appearance in my menu..Serve them hot or cold with veg raita or curd .pickle.I just wash ,chop and make it dough. You can fry it in little oil and make dough.

Ingredients
  1. Methi leaves - 1 cup(washed and cleaned)
  2. Wheat Flour-2 cup
  3. Jeera -1/2 tsp
  4. Chilli powder-1/2 tsp
  5. Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
  6. Curd - 1/2 tsp
  7. Salt as needed
  8. Water as needed

 Method
  1. Soak the methi leaves with salt and turmeric for 10min,wash it again in water again.
  2. Squeeze the leaves so there is no excess water.Chop the methi leaves finely.
  3. In a bowl take wheat flour add chopped methi leaves, jeera , chilli powder, turmeric powder, curd and salt and mix well
  4. Add water to the mix and make it a dough , it should not be too tight or too loose.
  5. Let is rest for 30min or more, so everything mixes well.
  6. Make small balls and roll it into chappathi
  7. Heat a tawa , place the chappathi in the tawa ,fry till till brown spots appear on both side.
  8. Spread ghee on the both side and serve with raita or pickle.

Tips
  1. Take only leaves.Cleaning twice or more is very important.
  2. As the leaves are quite big, chop them finelyt,it makes  more presentable ,and kids would like it.
  3. Let is rest atleast for 30min
  4. Add water little by little so u can make it into soft dough.
  5. As curd and ghee is used you will not feel the bitterness of the methi leaves.
