Green Moong dhall gravy

 


  I hadnt soaked the moong dhall,nor wanted to roast them and cook.I just tried my luck in cooking them in open pan ,glad i did it.The moong dhall took 20mins to cook and they were mashed well,prepared a simple gravy using some tomatoes and onions.It tasted good with roti.A very simple curry.



Ingredients
  1. Green Moong dhall- 1 cup
  2. Onion-1 ,chopped
  3. Tomato-2 ,chopped
  4. ginger&garlic paste - 1  tsp
  5. Green chilly - 1 ,chopped
  6. Red chilly powder - 1/4 tsp
  7. Turmeric Powder-1/4 tsp
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Whole Jeera-1/4 tsp
  10. Oil


Method.
  1. Wash the green moong dhall and cook in 3 cups of water,till completely cooked.
  2. Heat oil in a kadai,add the jeera when it splutters add the onion and saute it well for 3 min in medium flame.
  3. Add the ginger &garlic paste and saute it for 1 min.
  4. Now add the redchiily pwd,turmeric pwd,salt,tomato and saute till it gets mushy.
  5. Add the  the cooked green moong dhall and add a cup of water.
  6. Let it boil in medium flame for 8min till the everything gets mixed well.
  7. Garnish with corinader leaves,serve hot with roti.

  16. Oh yes, I know how perfect the dhal gravy is with chappati. We have the same because its simply blends for the right flavors when eaten together. The curry is is indeed very inviting.
