Peas Potato Kurma


            I made this simple peas curry.It turned out to be so delicious.I have added sugar to cut the rawness of the onion.Boil the nuts to get very creamy consistency.Adding milk instead of water to make the into paste .It enriches the taste of the gravy.

      

Ingredients
  1. Peas-2 cup
  2. Boiled Potato- 2 ,chopped
  3. Onion-1 ,small,chopped finely
  4. Tomato- 1 ,big ,pureed
  5. Turmeric pwd-1/4 tsp
  6. Chillipowder- 2 tsp
  7. Corinader pwd- 1 tsp
  8. GaramMasala-1/4 tsp
  9. Oil- 2 tbsp + 1/2 butter
  10. Salt as needed
  11. Sugar-1 tsp
Whole Garam Masala
  1. Saunf-1/4 tsp
  2. Cinnamon stick- 1 small stick
  3. Bayleaf- 2 nos
  4. Cardamom - 3 nos
  5. Star Anise-1 small
  Paste-I
  1. Onion- 1 ,big
  2. Garlic- 2 pod
  3. Ginger- 1 small piece
Grind them together and make it into paste.

Paste - II
  1. Cashewnuts- 4nos
  2. Badam - 4 nos 
  3. Milk- 2 tbsp
Boil cashew nut and badam for 5min.Let it cool and grind with milk to make a fine paste.



Method
  1.  Heat oil in a kadai,add the wholegaram masala when it splutters add the chopped onion and saute for 2min and little salt.
  2. Now add the ground Paste-I,and saute in medium flame till the paste turns golden.
  3. Now add the peas and saute it for 1min.
  4. Now add the tomato puree and all the spice powder and mix it well.
  5. Let it cook till the oil starts leaving .
  6. Now add the potato and  mix it well.
  7. Add 2 cups of water and let it boil till the raw smell subsides.It takes about 10min.
  8. Now add  sugar and mix it well.
  9. Add the Paste -II ,simmer it completely and cook for another 5min.
  10. Garnish with coriander leaves .
  11. Serve with hot rice or Methi roti.
